FAQ :Frequently Asked Questions
- How long does it take to install a stairlift?
- Since we stock the lifts in our warehouse, we prepare the lift in our shop before we bring it to your home. Once our technician arrives, he can usually complete your stair lift installation in just over an hour.
- Can I put a stairlift outside?
- Yes, we can special order lifts for outdoor use.
- What if my power goes out? Will I be stranded?
- Our stairlifts use a battery which is charged automatically at both the top and the bottom of the stairs. The stairlift will continue to operate during a power failure for many rides up and down your stairway.
- Does Medicare or insurance help pay for stairlifts?
- Some insurance policies will cover this equipment, however they are not covered by Medicare.
- Will the installation damage my walls or stairs?
- No, there is no attachment to the walls and only a few holes in the steps are required for fastening the track brackets.
- How much space is required on my stairs?
- Our lifts are the narrowest the industry has to offer with a track that’s only 4½” wide. The seat can be folded up to give you additional stairway access.
